Eight functions, one server.
Everything your people do in a day, in one place.
OxiMail is one server with several faces. Here is what it does, function by function, then how your people reach it, then the modules that extend it.
The functions
Eight things you do every day.
Your mail, your folders, your sorting rules. A team mailbox for the requests that come in at the front desk. Newsletters unsubscribe in one click.
Works with the mail app you already have.
Calendar
Everyone’s appointments and the rooms. Invitations you answer in one click, even when they come from Outlook or Google. Free/busy across the team.
Works with Outlook, Google Calendar and Apple Calendar.
Contacts
The organisation’s address book, shared with the team, with the date of the last exchange. Import and export from your current tool.
Works with the contacts app on your phone and desktop.
Tasks
What is left to do, who it is assigned to and by when, as a list or as a board.
Files
Shared folders with version history, trash, and links you can send and take back. The same server replaces the office file server or NAS: a network drive on the office network, the same files in the browser.
Works with the file manager already on your computer.
Notes
Shared notebooks for minutes and case files, linked to the mail they came from, dictated if you would rather talk.
Chat and video
Rooms per team, polls, read receipts, drafts that follow you from desk to phone. A three-way video call with screen sharing, where a guest joins by a simple link.
Works with the video calling your team already expects.
Assistant and search
A search across mail, tasks, notes and files. An assistant that summarises, translates and drafts, reading only what you show it, without your data leaving your server.
How your people reach it
The web client, or the software they already use.
-
Workspace
The web client. Mail, calendar, contacts, tasks, files, notes and chat in one interface, behind one sign-in.
Read about Workspace → -
Sync Technical preview
A native desktop agent that mirrors an OxiMail folder tree to a local directory on macOS, Linux and Windows. Offline queue, conflict resolution. Builds on request.
Read about Sync → -
Drive
The file-server replacement. It mounts as a network drive on the office LAN from Windows 11 and Linux, and the same files open in the browser from anywhere. On a Mac, files travel through Sync and the browser instead. Version history, trash, revocable share links. Replaces a Samba box, a Windows Server file share or a Univention UCS server — on the same machine as your mail, with the same accounts and the same permissions.

Your current software
Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail, and the mail, calendar and contacts apps on iPhone and Android connect as they are. Nothing to install, nothing to relearn.
Modules
Optional modules.
Some capabilities are separate, paid modules, bought à la carte on top of any paid edition.
- AI assistantAn assistant over your mail, calendar, contacts, files, notes and chat. It also translates a message written in a foreign language, transcribes dictation — a note, a mail body, a voice message — on your own hardware, and reads the documents you hand it. You choose where the model runs: a local model on your own hardware (nothing leaves the box), a sovereign EU/Swiss endpoint, or a connected provider. Sovereignty is a setting, not a compromise.
- MeetVideo calls between up to three participants, with screen sharing, ringing, a waiting room and a mosaic view. A meeting is scheduled from the calendar with its link in the invitation, someone without an account joins by link, and a participant can be pulled into a call already under way.
- Booking Controlled beta Appointment booking: a public page served by your own server, practitioner and service catalogues, holds, reminders and healthcare-aware flows. In controlled beta with practices that use it alongside their practice-management system.
- Notify Controlled beta Unified notification channels — email, iCalendar, webhook, push — with per-user preferences and morning digests. Drives the patient and staff notifications of the Booking beta.
- Managed mailing lists In development Mailman-grade lists on top of the built-in distribution groups: subscription and confirmation, moderation, one-click unsubscribe, external subscribers. The distribution groups themselves are free.
- Audit & ArchiveA hash-chained audit log you verify and attest, a data-access log of who read whose data, the GDPR erasure workflow with its proof, and a legal hold that freezes a mailbox against destruction.
How it fits together
One backend, choose the surface.
Most organisations start with Workspace, Sync and Drive on a self-operated OxiMail. The modules switch on as you need them. Nothing here forces a big-bang adoption: you own a running backend first, then grow into the rest.
It sends your campaigns too: your first and only mail and relay server →
